2024 Pennsylvania At Risk

Preservation Pennsylvania has announced the 2024 Pennsylvania At Risk in an effort to bring statewide attention to threatened historic properties, serve as a tool for local action toward a positive outcome, and encourage funding and legislation in support of preservation activities.

Centers for Innovation: Westinghouse R&D Center and Bell Labs Holmdel

This is a two part webinar that will explore two major examples of midcentury corporate campus design, once home to innovative thinkers who helped forge technologies that shaped modern America. One is vacant and was nearly demolished for warehouse development. The other has been re-envisioned, revitalized and reopened as Bell Works, a thriving mixed use community hub.

Progress: Hanover Theater

The 2011 Pennsylvania At Risk Hanover Theater (also known as the State Theater) will be purchased by Hanover Borough (York County). The Hanover Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) (formed in 2021), worked closely with the York County Economic Alliance to put together a successful deal and the work now begins to find an investor and/or developer with the vision to successfully reinvigorate the building and block.
