After over 50 years living around the country, my wife and I moved back to Lancaster County in March.  An unexpected benefit has been the beautiful countryside that surrounds our new home in Lititz.  While the area to the south towards Lancaster has been developed, the farmland to the north and west is much like it was when we were in High School in the 1960s.

Exploring our new environment helps me to understand why my ancestors settled here 300 years ago and why they never left.

at the edge of the paved road is an old metal gate that opens into an old cemetery where the Brubaker ancestors rest. In the distance is farmland
The Brubaker Cemetery where Pete Brubaker’s Great-Great-Great-Great-Great and Great-Great-Great-Great Grandparents are buried.
