Will you help us save Pennsylvania’s special historic places? We welcome
your donation of any size and encourage you to consider making a
recurring donation. A weekly or monthly contribution adds up fast!
It’s our mission to help preserve the places that make Pennsylvania special.
We do that by hosting educational workshops and a conference dedicated to sharing ideas and best practices. Our awards program recognizes local heroes and the best preservation work being done across the commonwealth. Pennsylvania At Risk raises awareness of threatened historic resources and provides free technical assistance with the hope of a positive outcome, whether that’s offering funds for emergency stabilization, meeting with local officials, attending and testifying at hearings, writing letters of support for grants or simply raising awareness of the challenge and promoting better policies for preservation.
Our publications (on saving windows, a preservation “how-to” for community advocates, and our travel guides of legacy businesses) are tools to aid in preservation work at the local level. We also provide personalized guidance every day in response to emails and phone calls from people in a preservation pickle.
In the year ahead, we’ll continue our advocacy work for the state historic preservation tax credit, our collaborative efforts with Pennsylvania At Risk places, providing free technical advice to anyone who asks for it, and planning and hosting the Pennsylvania Statewide Conference on Heritage as well as the annual Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Awards. It’s an ambitious to-do list for our small staff. We put your dollars to work efficiently and effectively.
